TJM Hotels & Resorts To “Go Strawless” in 2019
Atlantic City, NJ (Oct. 30, 2018) – TJM Hotels & Resorts has announced today that all four of their hotel properties in the Northeast under the Crowne Plaza and Radisson flags will eliminate plastic straws beginning January 1, 2019.
The removal of plastic straws from the four hotels is an effort to take action against plastic pollution and join the movement for a strawless ocean to prevent pollution of water and sea life harm.
The company’s flagship hotel, the Claridge – a Radisson hotel is a historic property located on Atlantic City’s legendary Boardwalk that leads visitors directly to the Atlantic Ocean.
“TJM Hotels & Resorts is committed to eliminating plastic straws from our hotels to better the environment and make a difference,” said A. Cem Erenler, Vice President of Operations and Development for TJM Hotels & Resorts. “We hope to set an example, especially in Atlantic City for other hotels to step up and do what’s right for the community and iconic beach that our hotel guests enjoy each day.”
All four hotels are noted for their accommodations and state-of-the-art conference space that offer amenities, services and marketing incentives of the Crowne Plaza and Radisson brands.
The strawless initiative is the beginning of a larger sustainability initiative the company plans to launch in 2020.
